Richert Racing & 2018 Slingshot Racing Cup
After an extremely successful inaugural race season, Richert Racing is pleased to announce it’s continued support of the exciting Slingshot Racing Cup for 2018. The Slingshot Racing Cup is the world’s only championship to feature Polaris’ unique 3-wheeled roadster called the Slingshot.
David Richert, together with S.A.R. Sport & Recreation, a Polaris dealer in Steinbach, Manitoba, launched the Slingshot Racing Cup in 2017. The championship carries an executive and professional feel but serves as an introduction to racing in an extremely safe and fun atmosphere for all participants. “It’s a great opportunity for someone to get involved in the exhilarating experience of racing wheel to wheel, yet do it in an affordable, and most importantly, a very safe way. It’s a lot of fun to watch someone, with little to no experience on the race track, build their confidence throughout the year and leave each event with a huge smile on their face.” – David Richert The entry list is already filling up and participant numbers are expected to surpass those of last year. Several entrants have joined as a corporate team that will see company owners, employees, and clients share their Slingshot in competition against the rest of the field. Last year’s championship was won by Myles Kraut in his Karma Property Management Slingshot. In addition to being present at each race event to ensure that participants receive the necessary training to compete safely, Richert will once again join the racers on-track to help provide a benchmark for their progress. In 2017, several special guests helped to add flavour to each event, including 2x Olympic Gold Medalist Kaitlyn Lawes, Brier and World Curling Champion Jeff Stoughton, as well as numerous members of the Winnipeg Jets. The 2018 Slingshot Racing Cup will kick off with the opening race on May 30th, stay tuned for further details. In addition to the Slingshot Racing Cup, Richert is continuing his efforts to advance up into the highest levels of motorsport. Earlier this year he completed a successful tryout with Inter Europol Competition in an LMP3 race car at Circuito de Navarra in Spain. Efforts continue in raising the financial resources necessary to take advantage of the incredible opportunity.
